“Of all the endeavors we humans are now engaged in, perhaps the grandest of them all is the steady weaving together of our lives, minds, and artifacts into a global scale network. This great work has been going on for decades, but recently our ability to connect has accelerated. Two brand-new technological achievements–the silicon chip and the silicate glass fiber–have rammed together with incredible speed. Like nuclear particles crashing together in a cyclotron, the intersection of these two innovations has unleashed a never-before-seen force: the power of a pervasive net. As this grand net spreads, an animated swarm is reticulating the surface of the planet. We are clothing the globe with a network society.

The dynamic of our society, and particularly our new economy, will increasingly obey the logic of networks. Understanding how networks work will be the key to understanding how the economy works.” (New Rules for the New Economy – Kevin Kelly, 1998)

Using social media and the art of conversation underpins the new economy, it is the foundation for the networking that is so important to the 21st century. Gone are the days of the advertiser here is the time of the value based marketer, the individual and business that adds value long before their customers and clients have begun to buy.

This new economy entrepreneur ‘gets it’; that working in line with the way the universe itself works will create a cogent alignment with the reality of primal chaos, the matrix from which all reality emerges and when you are working in line with the universe magic happens.

“The atom is the icon of the 20th century. The atom whirls alone. It is the metaphor for individuality. But the atom is the past. The symbol for the next century is the net. The net has no center, no orbits, no certainty. It is an indefinite web of causes. The net is the archetype displayed to represent all circuits, all intelligence, all interdependence, all things economic, social, or ecological, all communications, all democracy, all families, all large systems, almost all that we find interesting and important. Whereas the atom represents clean simplicity, the net channels messy complexity.”

In other words the new 21st Century icon is the quantum wave, where all, and I mean everything begins. Before there is an atom, the symbol of matter in the universe there is the wave of probability this is a scientific fact and that wave is representative of the new economy. The quantum wave is probability rather than certainties and it is the true essence of our universe, that wave of chaos (meaning primal soup out of which all matter comes) it is the matrix where all things are possible and yet nothing is certain unless and until it is defined by thought, belief or in our case the crowd in our communities and tribes on the internet.

The internet has changed our lives forever and now social media has changed things even more, we are not in the information age any more we are in the information sharing age and this means networking – building communities and creating tribes. Where information is shared, conversed about and agreed upon we have our realities, our certainties and our matter. Out of the primal chaos of the everchanging conversation on the world wide web we begin to see memes (viral conversations) around which we form tribes and communities.

This is where Fractal Magic Marketing comes into it’s own and meets the world of the online wave, it is only by interacting with full understanding of the new economy and the way waves of possibility and probablity work that we will learn how to marketing in this new economy.

Do you understand the rules of the new economy?

“The three great currents of the network economy: vast globalization, steady dematerialization into knowledge, and deep, ubiquitous networking–these three tides are washing over all shores. Their encroachment is steady, and self-reinforcing. Their combined effect can be rendered simply: The net wins…”

Are you marketing within the rules of the new economy? Using the laws of the universe to create memes from your marketing messages? Some clues are within this text:

“Networks are nurtured by making it as easy as possible to participate. The more diverse the players in your network–competitors, customers, associations, and critics–the better. Becoming a member should be a breeze. You want to know who your customers are, but you don’t want to make it hard for them to get to you (IDs, yes; passwords, no). You want to make it easy for your competitors to join too (all their customers could potentially be yours as well). Be open to the power of network effects: Relationships are more powerful than technical quality.”

Fractal Magic Marketing is the only marketing system that takes advantage of the scientificly applied laws of the universe via quantum wave theory, direct from a former secondary science teacher who turned online marketer extra-ordinaire.

“Unlike viral marketing, which grows enormously and then dies quickly, fractal marketing goes forever, repeating itself at every scale imaginable.”

“One of the most interesting things to note about Fractal Magick MarketingTM is that it is all about infinite growth that is built on the value of the product, service or brand, not the amount of hype created around it.”

“Fractal Magick MarketingTM is all about being totally authentic, giving loads of value, giving back and building your brand on those rock solid values.”

“Marketers should now be thinking and acting differently as humanity once again finds it’s voice and the power to create or destroy businesses, perhaps even nations through the power of social media and world-wide conversations.” (quotes from the Fractal Magic Marketing course – Stay tuned for more about the launch of this amazing system in the next few weeks – coming soon to a computer near you).

Swarms need real-time communication. Living systems don’t have the luxury of waiting overnight to process an incoming signal. If they had to sleep on it, they could die in their sleep. With few exceptions, nature reacts in real time.”

Another quote from a site called ‘New Economy Entrepreneurs‘ outlines the understandings you will need to participate easily in the new economy:

“The following list of names personify the essence of a New Economy Entrepreneur:

* Warren Buffett
* Ariana Huffington
* Oprah
* The Guy Who Runs the Koi Fusion Food Cart in Portland, Oregon

Okay, okay. You were with me until the last name on the list, weren’t you?

What does a local food cart guy possibly have in common with those other Big Famous People?

Simple.

1. He is someone who invests his energies into adding value to the world through his business ventures that reflect what he is passionate about (an entrepreneur);

AND…

2. He embraces the power of technology to get Big Things Done (in his case, he uses Social Media sites like Facebook and Twitter to attract a loyal customer base who eventually creates a “buzz” about his business and grows his profits for him — the epitome of new economy tools).

In fact, Social Media has allowed this man to take his business from one cart to five, all in less than a year’s time! There is no other way he could have grown as quickly had it not been for the Internet. Of course, once the buzz about his scrumptious multi-cultural tacos was flying all over Facebook and Twitter feeds, the local news media picked up his story and ran a couple of human interest pieces on him and his business, only adding exponentially to his customer base because people saw him on TV.

Thus, a New Economy Entrepreneur is someone who engages in businesses* he or she owns that:

* reflect his or her passions
* add value to the world
* capitalize on the power of the Internet to multiply efforts, improve efficiency, and increase profits.

*Note emphasis on the plural of business — businesses. I point this out because it is critical to understanding what a New Economy Entrepreneur is. NEE are never one-dimensional. Having multiple streams of income is an essential component of the overall definition, just like chocolate chips are an essential part of chocolate chip cookies.”

The Zen Bull team have taken this to heart and are so excited to reveal our new sites which are to form a trio of sites along with The Zen Bull, to give an wholistic experience to those who are interested in learning more about being their authentic selves, revealing their own magnificence to the world and interacting with those who are on the same path.

So sit back and enjoy this post and gain some inights into the characteristics of some of the most prolific social media personality types:

The Puppy - the total newbie to social media, this personality type makes mistakes however they are endearing and learn from watching other more experienced personalities. When you meet a newbie it is a good idea to be a little patient with them until they learn the etiquette, when they make a mistake because they have been watching and modelling their comments on the ‘wrong’ type, guidance is the best option until they learn the ropes.

The Chihuahua - This personality type yaps often and yet seems to say very little, there is no substance, rhyme or reason for their tweets and posts they can be seen typing things like: “sitting watching tv and chillin’ with ma bro” or the classic “gotta go pee” Yapping all day long about nothing in particular trying to get noticed.

The Miniature Poodle - These posts can be classified as sickly sweet, this SM personality like quotes and fires them off one after the other in quick succession and has little or nothing to say at all other than “I just love my life” etc.. , again no real substance or conversation. This is the cream puff of the social media world again nothing of real substance however occasionally they post a quote worth reposting or retweeting.

The Doberman – now this SM personality is all business and no nonsence, they are there to advertise their product, service and brand and do not bother with any real world conversation. Their posts are characterised by no-nonsence marketing which is often sent out via autobot so they don’t have to bother replying or conversing at all. The all business character of the SM universe and often blocked by me even though I too market online.

The Mongrel – it is interesting what types are attracted to social media and this type loves to bad mouth others, cause trouble and gossip, they will find any user and treat them to a post denegrating their personality, looks, and posts in a rude and uncouth manner and are best blocked at your earliest conventience for good. Obviously have no other way to gain the fame they seek and have a bad attitude.

The Basset Hound - this type tells you every little thing about their lives, they are often looking for sympathy and they post pathetic comments and tweets hoping that you will be reeled into their lives in a way that you will feel you need to help them in some way. This creates the very attention that they crave. They love playing the victim and often ask for help in ways that are downright rude “I am so low at the moment the only way I feel better is when I write my story, I cannot type and so really need someone to buy me a voice recorder – this is the one I want LINK” (a real post I saw on my Facebook wall recently)

The German Shepherd - now this personality is worth knowing, although they are there for business they also understand the need to converse and be social on social media, they will openly edify other businesses and people and are up for a cross marketing opportunity or two. They often post items of interest from all over the web and are generally business-like and social at the same time.

The Golden Retreiver – This social media personality truly gets social media, they create relationships and friendships at the same time as cultivating their business and marketing relationships. They will openly post about their life while not becoming completely boring and are great at cross marketing with those they are ‘friends’ with, even their direct competition, understanding that competition is only an untapped market. Look for the Golden Retrievers they are focussed on creating great relationships and helping you to become successful as they understand that reciprocity is a key component of social media.

Visit the original article at http://www.thezenbull.com/blog/index.php/whats-your-ubd/.

First of all I hear you ask, “What’s a UBD?”

Your UBD is your Unique Business Differentiator and it is the most important thing you can know about your business before marketing it. It is what makes your brand, your business stand out in the crowd.

This is what you will use to establish your brand amongst your competition, it is what will draw your clients and customers to you in preference to other brands, it is how you brand yourself, it belongs in all of your marketing and will be used daily by you, your marketing, and your employees.

So how does a business find, create and establish their UBD?

It all begins with your Vision and Mission statements which are a list of values, goals and outcomes you create for your business. Your vision and mission statements help to keep motivation high, give your business purpose and move you and your business from A to B, effecting growth on a regular basis according to your goals and outcomes.

From these statements you will gain and insight into who your business is, who your target market is, and how to market your business. The next step is to sit down and list your businesses main benefits to your customers and what is different or unique about it.

Questions to ask yourself at this stage:

Who is my main target market?

What is different about my business?

What am I proud of offering?

What am I passionate about?

What core values are most important to me in relation to my business?

What do my current customers/clients say about my business?

What benefits of my business are already important to my prospective and current clients/customers? (This might mean some research on your part)

What are people saying about the biggest or most well-known brands in the same business? (researching what other brands are saying around their own businesses can give you an insight into current trends)

What are the most universal needs of people searching for your niche?

Now create a new list, of words I want associated with my business.

The next step is refinement, take your lists and begin a list of words, values and answers you gave to the questions and prioritise them. Which ones are the most important to you, which ones are already associated with your business by your customers/clients.

Continue to refine this list until you have between 3 and 5 of the most important to you and your customers/clients remembering that your customers and prospects are even more important than you when it comes to your marketing, these are your business’s UBD’s. Once you have this list try coming up with a few different slogans or phrases that encapsulate these UBD’s and these can be your very first branding messages.

Great Job! Now you’re thinking like a marketer!

Visit the original article at http://www.thezenbull.com/blog/index.php/what%e2%80%99s-your-social-media-marketing-plan/.

When first starting out in Social Media Marketing our enthusiasm often gets us a little carried away, please don’t get me wrong enthusiasm is great, but as usual in life if you don’t have a map you cannot possibley know where you will end up.

Most of us are marketing to create more success for our business, and even with social media we can have a plan and a map and set goals. So now I ask you What’s Your Social Media Marketing Plan? Do you have one?

Would you like to have the steps I use to create my plan?

You would! Sure, here they are:

My first step is to go to the sites I use the most and any more targeted sites around my niche and secure my brand name on those sites, even if the profile sits idle for a while at least now you know that when you get around to using that site your brand name is there waiting to be used, not taken by someone else. The easiest way to do this is namechk.com

Define your goals and write down your definition of success around those goals. Do you want to build BUZZ? Increase brand awareness? Do you want more traffic to your site? More Subscribers? Increased knowedge about your customers? etc..

Define how you will measure your success. Measuring your success will largely be defined by your goals and definition of success; for increased traffic you will measure your site visitors, for brand awareness how often are you retweeted or mentioned by others on social sites..

Write out your ’story’. Social media is all about having conversations and the story of you and your business, write out what you want to say, how you want to be branded, what you want to be known for, what you want people to say about you and stick to it.

Focus your time on sites that are busy and having lots of conversations. To do this you must know; who your customers are and what kind of community you are getting into – will is serve your purposes?

Know your customer profile/s well enough to be able to predict what they want to hear, what they want to see, what they respond to and what they want – they will be asking “What’s in it for them?” even if there need or want is to save the earth or donate to a worthy charity.

Once you have found several appropriate communities, get to know them well, do your research into who has a big voice on that community, who is listened to and respected, how they communicate, what kind of content is responded to etc.. Become an expert on that community so that you can use it well and build your brand name through respect and adding value in the way that is expected on that community.

Prepare what you will say on your communities. Know not only your story, but how you will respond if someone challenges you, if they start a heated debate, if they plain don’t like you etc.. Once you have the worst case scenarios worked out, you will be able to rise (yes rise) to any occasion with gentle, respectful assertiveness when needed and these moments can actually work in your favour if you handle them well.

Know how social media will best be incorporated into your business or organisation. Know how much time you wish to commit to it and create a strategy around that time that creates flow. Map out your core strategy, vision, mission, time commitment both in daily time and how long to test a community before moving on, and protocols. You will also need to know who in your company or organisation will be using SMM and what they can and cannot say.

Some of the most important hints around building a Social Media presence:

* Always Add Value
* Engage and converse in genuine ways
* Listen really listen to what is being said and respond appropriately
* Answer questions with no alterior motive
* Be helpful
* Share knowledge
* Educate
* Be a regular face and contributer
* Stay honest and avoid hype and most of all avoid being a spammer

I see the words authentic and authenticity bandied around a lot these days, it seems that being heart centered and authentic are the new catch phrases of marketing as they world demands more trustworthiness and more truth from its marketers online and off. However, is everyone who is using the terminology really being authentic or even truthful?

Sorry to say, no. But I really believe you already knew that, didn’t you?

Authenticity and heart centeredness is all about being self aware, it is knowing where you stand and then “standing in the truth of who you are and speaking from the heart.” I have been asked if it is possible to do that and still market your business. My answer, “Yes! Yes! and Yes!” If you are not, then what are you marketing? If you are marketing dreams and not fulfilling them I must ask you, where are your ethics?

Authenticity demands ethics, morality and truth on every level and if this is not how your are marketing, if you are using hype and scams to market, I also must ask are you passionate about your business, product or service. When you are passionate about your business, when you know that you have something of value to offer you will never need to sell it, or advertise is in inauthentic ways!

That is why we at The Zen Bull prefer to work with people who love what they do, are passionate about what they are offering to the world, because that passion – their own authenticity will shine through everything we and they do to market their product. They and we know that they have something valuable enough to recommend highly, something of value to others that will sell itself with a few honest and authentic recommendations.

During our interviews with our clients we ask a question of them. “What would you like others to know about you and your business?” The answers to this seemingly simple question are varied, however what we are looking for is for the passion to show in the words used about the clients product or service, if they are not there the next question is, “So why are you in this business?”

Is it just a good idea? Is it something another person has made money doing? Is it a so-called entrepreneurial venture? I have to let you in on a secret – if it is not an entrepreneurial ADventure there is more than likely not enough passion to sustain it going forward through the first 12 to 18 months.

Being authentic means you have not only sold yourself on the vision and mission of your business you can sell us on it too and then that passion, that authentic vision and mission permeates your marketing and your market without even trying. You don’t have to sell a thing, that authenticity shines through with such brightness that the whole world sees your business in a spotlight and is instantly attracted to your vision and mission because they can see ‘what’s in it for them.’ You have answered some question they have – you have the answer to their need, it is clear to see and being authentic is how you attract the right people to you.

Every marketing quest is about finding qualified purchasers, authenticity (real authenticity) shines from you, your business, your website and your marketing because it is congruent with your vision and mission – your purpose and with you. Qualified purchasers are found through that path and they are the ones who will take that authenticity out into the world for you as word of mouth (the holy grail of marketing) in their testimonials – they got exactly what they purchased and more from you. In other words they bought your dream, and your authenticity is what sold them on it – and if you think you can fake that, I cannot help you.

Please, be truly authentic about your business, market with integrity in truthful and congruent ways and word of you will spread far and wide, and marketing will become the smallest part of your business budget.

I know that you think this post is going to be all about statistics, graphs and metrics – it’s not!

That doesn’t tell you why your marketing is working or not, it only tells you what isn’t and why is so much more important!

The truth is – and many people will not tell you this – your marketing either works or not because of you. What you’re thinking, what you’re doing, why you are doing it and how often you are doing it.

1. You think more about the money you are going to make – without giving consideration to how you’re actually going to make it. Big mistake on so many levels. First of all, unless you have prepared a roadmap to your goals how are you ever going to find your way there? Secondly, if all you are thinking about is money and you are not doing something you are passionate about, you will lose momentum. It is passion that drives our goal seeking momentum.
2. You haven’t thought about your customers needs. We get this all the time, clients who say but I want this on my website (when they really, really shouldn’t), I need this to happen, I like it better this way – marketing is NOT about you. There is no point marketing to yourself you won’t make any money that way and you will not have an audience for your passion either. Your market is everyone who is not you. You need to find out what your customer or client wants and then find a way to give it to them.
3. You blindly believe that every one is a potential customer. This means you have not thought about your demographic – in other words who are you selling to, who is your market? Another mistake we see all the time is our clients trying to make their website and their product or service meet all needs. This is an impossibility so now is the time for research, research, research into who your customer is, what they like, what they are saying, what they are buying and what are their unmet needs.
4. You think marketing is easy and you have decided you are an expert, because after all anyone can do it. Hmmm.. that one speaks for itself.
5. You believe that marketing is advertising… again that one speaks for itself.
6. You have no idea what your desired marketing outcomes are for your business or your website. Did you know that each page on your site should have its own outcome? Perhaps most importantly a call to action.
7. You know your business really well, but don’t know how to be in business. I see this a lot, lovely people who have worked in a field for a long time, who know how it should be done right who have no idea how to run it as a business. They struggle with the small things like how to tell clients and prospects about what they do, or bring in customers for their business.
8. You have no idea what your ’super power’ is, also known as a 45 second elevator pitch. This relates to #7 as well.
9. You have never actually listened to what your customers and clients have to say about your product or service, you use the same pitch you always have. Listening to feedback about your business is so important, it can tell you what your marketing should say. Giving your clients and customers what they want means finding out what it is about your business they find valuable and enhancing that, and using it as a marketing pitch of course.
10. You have no idea what Social Media Marketing is and when you find out, you discard the notion as not worth your time.
11. You never think outside the square, after all business is serious stuff. If you ever want one of your videos or ads to go viral thinking outside the square is a pre-requisite.
12. You don’t use video as a promotional tool, you don’t use video as a way to connect with your clients or customers. You think video is too “Techie” and for younger people.
13. You think a live web cast is over the top and there is no way that is going to help your business grow anyway.
14. You think a ‘pretty’ website is all you need.
15. You’re thinking “My marketing isn’t going to work now that I have read this post.”

Maybe, it is time to review your marketing plan (if you have one)…

Visit the original article at http://www.thezenbull.com/blog/index.php/new-paradigm-websites-and-marketing-with-heart/.

Most people have by now noticed that there is a shift happening on the internet, it can be seen in the New Media Marketing also known as Social Media Marketing, Conversational Marketing or Relationship Marketing, and now on the new websites that are making their appearance.

What is different about this new approach to internet marketing? The big difference is: it is about making real relationships with real people in a virtual world. Gone are the days of marketers telling us a business cannot wear its heart on its sleeve, that marketing is all about numbers and trends and has nothing to do with heart and soul and I say thank goodness!

The world has spoken with one voice, one loud and insistent voice and the world has said, “NO more interminably long scrolling AD pages! We want a feeling of being heard, a feeling of being able to trust again, we want heart, we want to see who you are and we want to know you – before we purchase a product or service from you. Please do not shout at us in mile high red print! and most of all we want to go back to the days of feeling as if we are being heard by you, back to the days when your customers and clients recommended you to us, back to the days when we actually knew you well enough to trust you and well enough that you knew our needs and responded to them with honest recommendations suited to those needs.”

We hear you, I know long before the ‘new’ trend of Social Marketing I was telling my mentor there was another way, that this hype marketing that was being taught as internet marketing was not for me – it just didn’t sit right with me at all. Now I am no longer a maverick on the outer, I am suddenly in fashion one of the original social marketers, who’d have thought?

I am not alone, having gravitated towards people in the industry just like me, I have found some lovely heart centered people and together we are creating a new company, devoted to helping people just like us to create websites and market those websites using heart, showing honesty and most of all by creating trusted relationships with our clients, customers and hopefully new friends.

If you knew you could come to a person and talk to them about your vision for your business and website who understood your need to appear and present yourself as exactly who you are, no hype. If you could say to these people please teach me how to contact those people I know will enrich my life by allowing my services or products to help them. Wouldn’t that make a difference?

Would you want to know more about a company that could host, manage and help you plan your website, your business and your marketing with an approach like that? Who could create your online face and market it in line with your business and passion, true to your vision and purpose?

Stay tuned – the doors are open and we will be continuing to evolve over the next year!
